July 12, 2017 - Dark, opaque, brick red moving back from the rim. Leather, tobacco, black raspberries on the nose. Napa fruit forwardness. Mouth fililing full bodied, showing some age. Balanced finished but the aging quality is too overwhelming.

March 1, 2017 - Popped and poured. Nose of black fruit, blueberry, smoke, and spice. On the palate, lush with blackberry, red currant, and spicy. Nice finish with a bit of grip. Drink or continue to hold. No hurry.

December 31, 2010 - Deep color, almost black. Nose of black cherry, pomegranate, blackberry, vanilla, spice, violets. On the palate, red and black cherries, tobacco, spice, black licorice. Finishes with firm tannins and nice acidity. Drink or continue to hold.

January 22, 2010 - Friday night at home. Very nice with a surprising spice note.

March 3, 2007 - Great value wine, at $24/btl tasted like a $40+ bottle. An unusal varietal from Italy brought to CA, complex enough to be interesting, enough structure, ready to drink but should last another 2-3 years in storage. Would be great with Italian or simple meats.
