August 11, 2023 - Tasted at Chateau d’Issan, wine #2. Grand Vin made from a blend of 65% CS and 35% Merlot, aged for 18 months in oak, 50% new barrels. Medium intensity slightly closed but complex aroma of blackcurrants, cherries, vanilla, chocolate, cigar box, lavender hints. Medium body, feels elegant and seamless with a string of freshness, delicate salinity. Flavours are earthy and smoje infused along extra fine refined tannins, long finish.

July 15, 2023 - Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with blackberry, black pepper, licorice, vanilla, cloves, leather, tobacco, wet leaves and forest floor. Pronounced taste of red plum, blackberry, black cherry, black plum, black pepper, licorice, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, wet leaves and forest floor. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Full body. A very good Margaux with further potential. Drink in five to twenty years. Goes well with beef or lamb.
