June 10, 2021 - Excellent. Sweet, floral. Dried fruits (especially raisins), caramel, black cherries. Very tannic still (which I really like). It’s obvious this wine will be delicious 20 years from now, and most likely 50 years from now. This wine is very much like a good port. It’s just out of vogue (understandably due to health concerns).

October 14, 2012 - Great with chocolate cake. Great lightly sweet sun-baked red and blue fruits, light earthiness and salinity, silky, mild, superb and well made. Great Banyuls.

October 15, 2007 - Took to a dinner party with a Taylor Fladgate 2000 LBV. By far and wide the better wine, with an elegant richness, almost perfumed quality, silky and elegant.

November 27, 2003 - Quick visit to Rhone and Burgundy; 11/27/2003-12/2/2003 (France): Tasting at Chapoutier. Rich and robust fruit, persistent sweetness from start-to-finish, nothing cloying. Good length and balance.
