Community Tasting Notes 2

October 6, 2018 - Deep ruby. Aromas are med + intensity of red cherries, forrest floor, peat moss, red/black plums, dust, vanilla, toast. On the palate the wine is dry with high somewhat green tannins, The alcohol is high with med + acidity and on the palate, raisins, minerality, black olive, blackberries and bramble. The finish has a somewhat bitter tannic taste suggesting too much time in oak. The wine has complexity and intensity but is lacking balance. Drink in another 2-6 yrs.

August 14, 2018 - Purchased at the winery and tasted again now. Smokey and dark fruit. I would have probably called this a Syrah if tasted blind.
