April 17, 2024 - Classic and very elegant Gamay nose. Raspberry fruit, suggestions ground white pepper and, with some air, a fine layer of marzipan. Palate has brisk acidity, more of that raspberry fruit and some impressive structure; the tannins are resolving but I sense there's enough stuffing here to let this develop over the next 5 to 10 years.

Light and red-fruited, with a leafy/savory aspect. This was much lighter-bodied and lighter-tasting than I was expecting. It put on a little bit of weight over a few hours, but it remained quite light throughout. Overall, it was o.k., but I largely thought it was boring. I will hold my remaining bottle for a few years, hoping I caught this one in a dumb or closed phase. As it drank today, however, this was in the low to mid 80s for a gut impression score.

December 31, 2022 - Unlike most recent releases this has significantly more structure still in play. Softening but not fully mature and fruit hanging on but less juicy than latest iterations. Throwing significant sediment. I expect this will continue to improve

November 24, 2022 - Great at thanksgiving dinner. Still 5 years away from ready, but even the novice drinkers liked this.

October 17, 2022 - Late night bottle pop at home. Explored over few days from Eto. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of perfumed dark berries, dark red cherries, chocolate ?oak. Spice, tobacco with more air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours chocolate oak integrating, serious meatiness with bit of iron, spice, bitter earth, dark red cherries. Some tobacco with more air. Long finish showing more structure.
Very good quality I suppose. For ageing. But in the context of what you imagine most Fleurie to be, this is too serious....Not my idea of enjoyment...
