    A: Medium ruby
N: Med (+) intensity (lower yields and better site than basic burgundy previously tasted). Cranberry, strawberry, violets, judicious use of oak yields clove, smoke and spice (judicious use of oak -- maybe 20% new oak)..No tertiary
P: Dry, medium (+) acid, medium body, med tannin fine grained, med (+) intensity and finish.
No sign of tertiaries so this is unlikely to improve if held. Not suitable for ageing.
Concentration of fruit and acid are in balance. Ticks for length and intensity but complexity is lacking. Very good quality wine.

June 25, 2018 - Paul Pernot Cellar Visit, Tasting 2017s (Day 2, Visit 1) (Puligny-Montrachet): Tasting at the domaine. Lots of power with both black and red fruit. Somewhat austere, somewhat backward. Very good length.
