May 20, 2023 - A nice dark cherry color in the glass with little in the way of legs. The nose had a bit of orange zest and strong cherry to it as well as a mild loamy mushroom.
On the palate it showed itself to be a light bodied red with a tannic backbone balanced by good acid. There were floral, cherry, and plum notes. Bone dry, it worked very well with Pasta Amatriciana. I think it could have aged for a few more years before it was at peak.

December 3, 2020 - Wine Wizards Monthly Tasting (Wine Wizards Stockton): Light and charmless, a neutral lighter dry red with some tannin. Caraffe wine for a pizza

February 10, 2020 - Brambly raspberry, dusty charcoal, mineral, some spice that rides the line between savory and baking. M to M+ acid, M to M- tannin, M- body. No noticeable alcohol at all. A lighter style but fairly serious too. This is ready to drink now but I’d say good for several more years and maybe even with a modest upside for a couple years.

I’ve never had a Piedirosso before (though this is recognizably in the same vein as other volcanic terroir southern Italian wines and especially other Campania wines, with a lighter frame but still decent structure) but this is interesting, distinctive, balanced, and very well made; about as much individual character as I’ve had in a wine for $20 (actually I paid $32 at a restaurant and would probably pay that at a bottle shop), very good qpr. Will buy again for sure and look for other Piedirosso too. 7.2-7.3/10

February 8, 2020 - Pairing Springsteen (What Am I Drinking?! Bryn Mawr, PA): Paired with "Wings for Wheels." Lovely mid-weight red, with notable smoky element. Fresh acid, very food friendly.

November 29, 2019 - Nice white pepper and cherry notes, with an earthy finish. Good tannins and acidity. Can drink now but will last a decade or so.
