December 6, 2023 - On the nose: sweeter than remembered, tobacco, strawberry, fennel seed?
Palate: bright acidity, medium minus tannins for a Barolo, leather, sour cherry, hint of dried fig on the back corners of the tongue, hint of fennel. -

November 17, 2018 - Here we go atruffling... (aka Piedmont... and Veneto); 11/16/2018-11/30/2018 (Alba, Guarene, Modena, Barolo, La Morra, Lake Garda .....): Part of the Alba truffle festival tasting. Possibly my favorite of the group, but I'd put it still in a fine wine, but not one that I'd seek out. What I liked was the spice cabinet which came out right from the beginning. Pepper and nutmeg and cinnamon and just interesting. Maybe a touch herbal. Fruit again showed up a bit later. Ended with some soy flavors. Very drying tanning. Totally fine wine.
