  December 4, 2023 - Carter wines are amazing, Mike Smith is one of the best wine makers in Napa, the Carter Cab is his regular Cab and it's a killer.

  June 5, 2021 - Thanks to my prior tasters, I gave this a five hour decant prior to first tasting; These notes are 6 1/2 hours after decanting.
  
  Nose is dark with tobacco, cocoa, pine abd forest floor. Lots of depth here. The decant has really allowed this to open up; it’s very smooth across the palate and at times seems like I should have gotten to this an hour or two ago. There are soft tannins that linger across the front and mid for a good half minute. There's dark fruit but it’s muted.
  
  The Egg is warming up and I can’t wait to see how this goes with the prime strips set up for tonite. Life is good…..until the politicians kill it all.
