May 31, 2020 - Unmistakably primitivo, Gioia del Colle! Clearly related to the Contrada Barbatto from Chiaromonte. Great, complex aroma of floral and black fruity components combining with southern rusticity, but still graceful. There 's a smoked, tea-like quality to it as well. A surprising twitch of red berry adds a bit of lightness towards the end. No, this is not too sweet, this is the fruit coming through. Wonderful.
