September 25, 2018 - A very drinkable and well made wine. Purchased at the winery in April 2018 in Armenia. Tasted the reserve at the winery. Just drank the bottle I purchased. It is both dry with some fruit and a little tannin on the back of the throat. The fruit component of Areni is somewhat similar to Plavac Mali which I've had in Croatia. Plavac Mali is a cross of Zinfandel and another grape. Areni is a local grape that has been in production for centuries. Areni is a delightful and delicious varietal.
