September 3, 2023 - Stunning. Deep purplish brown in the glass and quite viscous. Warm inviting notes of chocolate, stewed plum, figs, dates, all showing up both on nose and the palate. The finish was remarkably long, constantly changing. Some smokiness, lots of dried fruit like raisins, caramel, none of it overwhelming, and all balanced with a light fresh acidity, with everything complementing a silky mouthfeel. Likely near perfection.

September 26, 2019 - Great Tasting Menu with Old Rioja and Sherry (Cinc Sentits, Barcelona): Looks like crank case oil! Unbelievably intense and concentrated, almost solid like strainig a raisin through your mouth. Painfully sweet dried fig flavors without the complexity and acidity of the 1973. Still quite a treat to taste this rarity.
