February 23, 2024 - Bright gold color. Yeasty nose with apple notes. Very fine, lively bead. Crisp and subtle on the palate. Green apples, lemons, small bite of pepper. Bright acidity, fine balance. Finishes long and lemony with a lovely herbal note. Lovely champagne. 70% from 2017 vintage, the rest reserve wines. Much better than my previous bottle 8 months ago.

December 26, 2023 - Very delicate, fine mousse. Light toast. Creamy texture slowly spreads across the palate. Lemon & pear notes. Quite nice.

    July 16, 2023 - A new batch for me...
70% from 2018, 30% from the solera from 1968 onwards, otherwise as before (no specific disgorgement date, 5g/l dosage).

This feels quite different from the earlier batch. Specifically, on first opening it is very austere with a tartness tending to bitter. It requires at least an hour's air before it smooths out somewhat; then it is pretty much in line with Charlie C's TN below.

Overall, even after the air it doesn't have the creaminess that I found attractive in the earlier batch and it seems to me that this batch would work best as a crisp aperitif wine (after being open for an hour and not too cold).

EDIT: Another bottle 8 days later doesn't have the bitter edge that I detected previously, and is more in line with my TN of 22/08/22 on an earlier batch. Whether this is bottle variation or palate variation, who knows?

April 7, 2023 - Deep gold color. Moderately fine bead. Fresh brioche on the nose. On the palate, lemon, apricot, nice minerality. Very nice acidity, excellent balance. Finishes with lingering lemon and melon notes. Quite nice. Develops more pear and apple with air. Let this warm a bit to get the best results.
