March 15, 2024 - cork completely crumbled. The wine is decanted and passed through a filter. this wine has a lovey honeyed, mead like quality on the nose, perhaps Granny smith apple but again I wonder if the visual perception of fruits affects my flavor interpretation. Without a doubt joyous. in the mouth , at first, sweet, honeyed, even has some surmaturite of a suaternes. But quickly ferocious acidity rips through the palate, and all everything just described in eclipsed. Seems like last bottle was bum, because this wine flat out delicious. This wine is in fact powerful. But be careful the cork stank so it may be hit-or-miss. 8%EtOH.

February 19, 2024 - Honey, flowers, pear, petrol. Hints of blue cheese. Good acidity. Good freshness. Very low alcohol. Not cloying. Lovely stuff. Superb QPR. Should drink well for 3-4 more yrs, judging from this bottle.

September 24, 2023 - Hell I should have bought a case of this. Late release, purchased ex-cellar in 2021. At peak. Don't think it will improve but goddamn it drinks great right now.

September 20, 2023 - 20+yr old Spatlese. dark golden color, smells like varnish or shoe glue. In the mouth there a bruised pear character with still decent acidity. Drinks ok and might have served a purpose in the days prior to the advent of refrigeration for its longevity. today not deriving much pleasure from this wine. perhaps past prime vs storage issue vs off bottle.

September 20, 2023 - Burnished by age, this showed a mature profile of baked apples with lime and petrol accents, with some more tropical notes settling on the finish. This bottle was drinking beautifully, spherical and light with the perfect kiss of acid. This went down soooo easy.
