May 16, 2021 - Fresh and vibrant, with pineapple, honeydew, and lemon drop flavors caressed by wisps of toast. Picks up spices on the long and focused finish. Tasty and really well put together.

November 5, 2020 - Really nice Monterey County style Chard at a good price.
Pineapple, vanilla and oak. Maybe not everyone's style, but for what they set out to do, it is a 90 IMO.

July 11, 2020 - One of my value Chardonnay go-tos. Even with present oak, butter and vanilla the overall impression is elegant and not overdone.

April 29, 2020 - A little old, but still good.

June 14, 2019 - This wine does not taste like what Chardonnay should taste like. Medium color, very strange nose. Hard to describe - plastic? Very neutral on the palate; some sweet fruit, maybe pineapple and a little citrus, a touch of bitterness on the finish. There is a fair degree of acidity, but still gives the impression of a soft, fruity wine. The flavors seem shallow, ephemeral, and unappealing. Don't think I would have identified this as a Chardonnay in a blind tasting. Very disappointing, especially since I like J Lohr's Cabernet. I would give this a pass.

    (J. Lohr Chardonnay Arroyo Vista) Light lemon yellow color; lemon gelee, papaya nose; juicy, lemon, lemon gelee palate reminiscent of a village Chablis with good balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (14.5% alcohol; natural cork) 90+ points
