Community Tasting Notes 2

June 10, 2021 - Renato Ratti fly a little under the radar in the upper echelons of Piedmont but their wines are well worth seeking out. This is a very classicly styled, restrained Barbera D'Alba that's drinking nicely now. Plenty of ripe dark cherry, blackberry, fresh flowers, dried earth, stewed herbs and attractive medicinal notes rise up on the nose. The palate is super fresh and bright with dark fruits and some raspberry alongside lovely acidity and decent texture. There is a slightly green note that creeps in towards the finish that stops this moving to the next level, but this is a good wine. Drink now.

August 3, 2019 - Festa del Barolo Sydney 2017 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Reductive, acetone, a little meaty biscuit. The palate is a little tomato leaf. Sweet. Awful.
