November 26, 2023 - Much improved on Day 2. Combines the rustic feel of the variety with a mouth-filling suave approach that tames the abundant tannins while emphasizing ample spice and fruit character. More old world than new.

December 27, 2022 - Nice vintage. This one is smoother, rounder with more sweet notes than the 2015. (We did a vertical tasting)
Still big and dark. Don’t get the mineral aspect as much.

December 1, 2018 - Tablas Creek En Primeur 2017 Wines (Tablas Creek Vineyards): Dark but not as black and mono dimensional as this variety typically is. The mouth is generous if tannic, in the manner of ripe Petite Sirah, suggesting crunchy red fruits and blueberries. Surprisingly tasty and approachable now.
