March 22, 2024 - Remember this? "If anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any fu*king Merlot!’

But this is not true for this one - Take that, Miles.

It’s a very pleasant surprise - full of character typical for its age. Adore the nose of black licorice.

Tannins and acidity are gentle and well integrated. This wine is near its apex. I’d happily drink this for a few more years...

March 20, 2024 - Dark red colour. Bouquet of tar and pepper. Flavours of chocolate, blackberry, blueberry and slight vanilla. Body is fairly thin and flavours are moderate.

July 28, 2023 - A little more than a year later than the last bottle, my feelings are about the same. This too was a pop n pour using a Venturi style aerator to dispense. However a found a little more complexity with hints of cherry wood smoke, black currant and mild herbs. The tannins were still tight, but loosened-up as the meal progressed. This has the potential to keep on aging, but not much longer than recommended. For the complete experience, I would advise to decant this wine first for about an hour or more, and then enjoy with a meal. Paired with pork tenderloin and cheesy gnocchi.

June 27, 2022 - An excellent and well-aged merlot. Cherries and chocolate with a smooth mouthfeel and sturdy structure.
If I may borrow a Harry Potter reference despite not being all that much of a fan, merlot is the Hufflepuff of wine grapes, and it shows here. Sturdy, dependable, not too full of itself, and works well with others.

April 2, 2022 - At first, right out of the bottle it was in you face being corked-up for a while. Decanted for about an hour and the fruit opened-up. With a little air it got smoother. Dark purple in color medium finish.
