November 17, 2010 - drank with val to celebrate her belated birthday (this bottle was from her birth year.) first of all, great condition. label was fine, the fill was still up to the neck. the foil was fine and the cork, although soaked almost to the top, was still intact. light brick colored in the glass with a bit of bronze. the nose showed cranberries, tart cherries and decaying leaves. the tannins are so soft your palate really has to search for them. the acid is high. the flavors of cranberry, earth and cellar dust are tasty, but weak. the finish drops off completely and leaves your palate feeling disappointed. drinkable? yes. enjoyable? yeah. would i purchase it for any other reason than to open for my girlfriend? no. she ended up saying she didn't like the wine at all but it was the thought that counted. this wine is way past its prime. fortunately, the woman i bought it for isn't :-)
