February 4, 2015 - While it was probably never above mediocre this wine is now totally defunct and bordering undrinkable. Angular, insipid and saturated with undesirable salty elements. Don't waste your time - or money! - on this.

March 2, 2014 - Dinner comparing this with the 1996 vintage. Decanted an hour beforehand. Still dark but some brick colour emerging. Austere with some tannins and little fruit. An 'old fashioned' claret and needs drinking up.

April 27, 2012 - Very pleasant nose of dark cherry and cedar but after the initial promise the palate was of a classic claret in miniature in that black fruits and tannins were nicely balanced and enjoyable, but the overall effect was slightly ungenerous and pinched on the finish.

June 25, 2009 - 'Vintage Pairs II' Offline (The Ledbury, London): Fuller, richer and more viscous than the 78. Thinner on the palate though, quite lean but a decent vintage considring the trad style and the vintage. Drink now I think. **1/2
