  March 29, 2020 - The words "Pinot Noir" and "Napa Valley" rarely go together, and this bottle is a good example of why. Yes, it is light in color, it manages some spice and mushroom/earth components, and is identifiable as Pinot Noir. But the fruit is simply too ripe, and every aspect of Pinot that this achieves it seems to do despite itself. It's not awful, but there's really no reason to do this on the Napa side of the appellation beyond checking a box for unwary consumers. There are countless $25 bottles from Sonoma or the Willamette Valley that just make more sense than this. It was a gift and I'm grateful for the experience...
