July 28, 2007 - This was a new one on me. Also, our hosts served it with an entirely inappropriate creamy pasta meal, but nevertheless, I found this disappointing. It was a blockbuster on the taste buds but far too tannic to be pleasant. Surprisingly, even after an hour or so, it failed to soften up. This was just too much like hard work and I wouldn’t recommend. My low score reflects the excess tannin. This might improve in time (although the reference books have this as a "drink now") but my score is based on my experience - not what might happen in the future
