May 2, 2024 - Third day sample. Was rather tight and unyielding on day 1. Bright red fruit, a bit crunchy. Palate is quite dense and structured showing considerable depth going into the finish. Needs at least 5yrs to written but seems to have a great future.

May 1, 2024 - Especially firm structure upon opening, this actually took a couple days in bottle to soften up to the point of being really enjoyable. Black tea leaf and blackberry fruit, against a backdrop of almost barbaresco like tannin. It presents as fairly stern and serious with high acidity. Undoubtedly will age well, but it may turn out a little angular, not unlike a 96, so in that way is somewhat atypical for my experience with the otherwise charming 2017s.

January 15, 2024 - Substance is there but currently buried. A bit firm, a bit green, can feel a suaveness and sense the fruit underneath but this needs some time to hopefully blossom.

Sexy wine. Juicy red fruits and crunchy minerals. Long finish.
