November 14, 2020 - Very savory bouquet copmlements a more fruit-centric palate, which evolves and maintains a distinctive appeal over a few hours in the glass. No decant needed, this well into the third quarter of a postcard plateau. Next few years best. Moving the drink by up to -2023 (or later for the last browns and reds of autumn).

May 7, 2019 - Opened day 1, poured 2 glasses - no note taken, vacuvined and refrigerated, remaining consumed on day 3 when note was taken. Nose: Medium expressiveness, black cherry, black berry, licorice, and cigar box. Palate: Medium-full bodied, nice mouth-feel, great balance, sweet dark fruit attack, good mid-palate persistence where black pepper and spice notes join in, dark fruit and spice dominate the back-end, very clean and smooth from front to back. Finish: Sneaky long, 45-60 seconds, dominated by sweet dark fruit and subtle spicy notes. I think I missed the prime window, day 2, as this was quite powerful upon the initial pop and pour and very mellow this evening - day 3. (91+)

September 3, 2018 - Weekly tasting group RWP #301: 6 great and completely different flights. (@ VD): In the bouquet loads of herbs and spices, even coughing syrup. On the palate full bodied, milk chocolate, cinnamon, a lot of sweetness, nicely balanced by good acidity. Beautiful and concentrated, complex wine. 94 - 95+

November 11, 2017 - Third time over the past few years...all good, none more than that. A bit sweet, peppery, lush. Probably really just needs some years.

June 10, 2017 - Singeingly intense blackberry, dark raspberry, buttered dark toasted bread, fresh orange, graham cracker, violet, and blueberry pie; a pleasure to bear. An hour in the decanter; four would've been better.
