Community Tasting Notes 2

  • PARAG0NN Likes this wine: 88 points

November 10, 2020 - Beautiful purplish / lighter red color. Nose of a big red, fruit forward - dark red berries, bitter aftertaste

  • RMattu Likes this wine: 85 points

September 30, 2019 - Clear, medium, ruby, few legs.

Clean on nose, medium intensity of blossom, raspberry, cranberry, forest floor, mushroom, game, vanilla.

Dry to off-dry, high acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium minus body, with a medium plus flavor intensity of mostly pomegranate and cinnamon accompanied by some nutmeg, vanilla, and toast. Gameyness on nose does not carry over to the palate. Finish is also medium of mostly toast/smoke.

Overall this is a good wine with good balance, fair complexity, good intensity, and a decent finish. Can drink alone, but it is probably best used as a versatile pairing wine for high umami foods as we did with chinese clay pot mushroom rice (a lot of mushrooms).
