April 25, 2024 - Slightly reductive on the nose initially, blackberries and tart red cherries. Earth and spice. Caramel!
Quite full for the vintage, lovely pure black fruit, fresh acidity and discreet tannin on the finish, good balance, nicely done.

November 5, 2023 - Drank with lunch; Salmon en Cruit. This is a really great; blanaced, good fruit and in a sweet spot now. I couldn't tell you if this will imrpove, but right now it's excellent and one of the best I have in my cellar.

June 18, 2023 - I’m not much of an expert when it comes to Gevrey Chambertin, but this is seriously good. I’m looking forward to trying again

July 23, 2022 - Coravin fun - Burgundy selection, Talbot bracket and supper wine (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Pretty black hued fruit, slight stalk underpin, a little sweet and savoury spice as well as some well managed wild ferment funkiness. Juicy, savoury, boldly fruited, persistent talc textured tannins grasp the tongue. Nice.

February 8, 2022 - 2017 Burgundy Villages Tasting. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of emerging forest floor, dark red cherries, dark forest berries, light pepper. Developing.
On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), chewy medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensiy, with flavours of pepper spice, powerful dark red cherries, dark berries with touch of blackness, overlying oak, bit of smoke, emerging forest floor earth. Long powerful finish.
Ambitious Gevrey village but a bit cumbersome at the moment.
