November 11, 2018 - this one aged fantastically even though it's not supposed to be kept for so long... great effort, acidity was not overwhelming and even though it's past its peak, it was quite enjoyable. Went well with lamb...

February 16, 2017 - Luminous, translucent brick-red color with a developed mahogany hue. The nose feels very pungent, oxidative and rather unpleasant with aromas of smoke, sweaty socks, a little bit of dusty earth, light dried fruit flavors, a hint of decomposing dry wood and a touch of soy sauce. The wine is full-bodied, smooth and silky on the palate with flavors of dusty earth, gravelly minerality, some tar and a hint of bitterness. The fruit flavors are long since gone. Moderately high in acidity with soft, resolved tannins. The finish is long, dry and spicy with light tannic grip and savory flavors of sour cherries, gravelly minerality, some dusty earth, a little bit of tar and a hint of powdered salty liquorice.
The wine is pretty much dead with thoroughly oxidized nose and rather dull taste with more oxidative than oxidized flavors exhibiting no sense of fruit anymore. Seeing how this specific bottle should have quite solid cellar history, it is most likely that this vintage is not alive anymore.
