October 9, 2022 - According to Robert Parker: "The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape is actually one of the more forward wines La Gardine has made in a number of years. It is dark ruby, has excellent chocolatey pain grille notes intermixed with espresso, sweet cherry, and blackberry. The wine is soft, deep, with excellent purity and should drink nicely for up to a decade." (02/07) According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Strong kirsch and dark plum on the nose, with a dark chocolate accent. Ripe and fleshy, with dark fruit flavors framed by solid tannin..

March 20, 2015 - Developed nicely in six years. Good earthy dusty brambly fruit. Pretty silky at this point with a hint of fruit and herbs.

January 19, 2015 - Decanted for about 40 minutes. Dried herbs, ripe raspberries and black berries, fine tannins and a hint of tobacco and licorice.

May 18, 2014 - Once a glorious wine, this has faded. Fruit dried and short lasting. Raspberries and spice dominate the palate, but tannins have disappeared and little acidity left.
