February 24, 2024 - A very good wine and the best Hex since maybe the 2013 vintage. This has a wonderful silky texture with some great Franc dusty character. Medium tannins are still very present with notes of expresso, mint, and some muted red fruit notes that are really present after an hour or two of air.

November 22, 2023 - Beautiful wine. Showing perfectly now. Decanted for an hour. Still some bright fruit and spice on the nose. Medium + acidity. Medium tannins and long finish

February 15, 2023 - After a 5 hour decant, this was a syrupy delight. The cab franc dominance shows itself with pepper and chocolate.
If you like the overly concentrated Napa style, this wine won't fulfill your fantasy. This isn't overpowered at all; it's an elegant wine. And it was still a fantastic pairing for a Robbins Island Wagyu NY Strip.
Maybe in a bit of a sleepy phase right now (as I'm noticing for many of the Napa 2016's that used to be so vibrant).
Would I buy this particular wine again at the direct asking price? No. I think there are many other options with more value. But will I enjoy the next bottle when I open it in 2-4 years? Definitely! -

January 19, 2022 - Perfect wine to toast the master! Wine was slightly hot at first, but when that burned off Pritchard hill came through. Great depth and body, with floral notes on the back end. Finish at least 30 seconds, and deep garnet color
