March 27, 2022 - Nose of black fruit and cassis. The palate continued with black fruits but some plum and oak. Medium bodied with a drying finish at the moment. Needs some time.

November 18, 2021 - That smells like dusty tannins. And its stiff on the palate as well. But just opened. That's got some time on it. And no smoke taint.

May 27, 2021 - Black and red fruit to the nose. With some earth notes. All in very pretty on the nose. Still structured with a little touch of green to it. Apparently 2017 has extended skin contact because they picked before the fires but had nowhere to go. Methol purple flower thing.

March 20, 2021 - Always a fave. Ripe dark fruit, some roasted and cooked fruit notes, some green herbal and leafy notes. Black cherry preserves, cassis, tobacco, thyme, mint, bay leaf, a touch of flowers. Bold and juicy, then classically dry and firm. This has the restraint I desire in fine Cabernet. Delicious and worthwhile today, it will probably be better in a few years, and should be worth following for another 10 ....also, it seems to me to be quite obvious that a small amount of Petit Verdot can go a long way, as the 2017 included none, while the 2016 had 4% and was quite a bit more fresh and floral. Do not doubt the power of a dab of nicely ripened Petit Verdot.... On day two it is going strong. A little more floral and a nice black olive note has emerged.

February 7, 2021 - Big, gutsy, black fruited mountain Cabernet. Better on day two right now. So to hold.
