December 28, 2021 - 2019 Visit to North Canterbury, NZ: From a steeply inclined east-facing vineyard with 30% clay and more active limestone (15-20%), quite visible on the surface. The plot is also around 300 metres above sea level and is typically picked a week earlier than the Field of Fire vineyard. It received similar élevage. A funkier, more reduced, leesy and more powerful bouquet than the Field of Fire. Richer and fuller on the palate but with the same intensity, minerality and persistent acids. As a slight negative, I found the wine more open and oxidised, more stonefruit than citric, as compared with the Field of Fire. Also, serious length, with a long, dry, mineral finish. Another excellent Chardonnay.

June 10, 2020 - Wonderfully deep, wild, fleshy and juicy but mouthwatering acidity. Exciting.
