Winery: Blackbird
Varietal: 65%Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot
Area/Appellation:Napa Valley, Ballard/Hudson/Stagecoach/Crocker & Starr vineyards
Vintage: 2018. Price: $29 wine.com last 2 bottles
Color: Beautiful Rich Salmon. Legs: Medium to Slow
Nose: Restrained, Strawberry, some peach and guava, cantaloupe, hints of regular and yellow watermelon.
Palate: strawberries, cantaloupe, blood orange,
Finish: succulent and very fruity, low acidity and the fruit notes pop out all over.
Comments: I am totally amazed at the low acidity of the Rose given the near perfect conditions of harvest, but it definitely helps bring out the raw flavor characteristics of this wine. It is meant for near term consumption I believe. 2019-2022.
Pairing Suggestions: lobster, tuna salad, chicken or any spicy asian curry, fresh peaches, barbecue shrimp, barbecue pork

May 22, 2020 - Always a great fuller bodied rose that gets consumed in volume. Strawberry, cranberry and cantalupe notes with a bit of citrusy acidity.

May 11, 2020 - Fantastic rosé for an afternoon on the sunny deck. Macerated strawberries, cantaloupe. Mostly dry, good balance b/w acid and fruit. Less acidity than many rosés.
