December 27, 2015 - The wine looks purple colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry. It tastes like strawberry and raspberry. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

January 5, 2014 - Labeled as 13% abv. Very dark purple color; nearly opaque. Somewhat brooding nose at first; initially I thought it might have some of the 2004 taint but was still quite drinkable. I liked it better the second day. However, it didn't approach the enchantment of the first Arlaud "les Ruchots" I ever had (the 1999). That one was full of bright berry flavors and had excellent balance and structure. This one is more dark-fruited with herbal elements and a suggestion of hoisin sauce. I had it the first evening with leftovers of a baked chicken with vegetables casserole and had the final glass on the third evening with a warm sandwich of roast beef and melted cheese. I like this wine but found it a bit disappointing in comparison to the 1999 vintage.

September 6, 2009 - Marking more than half way up the cork. Air may have succeeded in getting in as there are sherry and Rioja-esque vanilla whiffs. Decanted an hour. Fair bit of orange-brown here. Nose has some positive red-cherry and animal fur. There’s that ’04 vegetal aspect, here manifest as rotting vegetables – compost heap stuff. Tight, narrow, strawberry and marmite are supported by the acidity, and there is length. A certain class; and fair drinking. V high; tugging through in every non-food finish. It does stand a chance to be alive and easier in c4 years. A chance; not a probability. 86 to 87 now, 86.

September 28, 2008 - Good and if not great big and thick wine with no normal 2004 vintage undertones....
