  November 9, 2011 - Dim Sum Club goes Japanese Again (Hinoki, China Square Central): Last bottle - thankfully this was back on form and showing very well. The nose was telltale dry Aussie Riesling, opening with a whiff of kerosene hanging like a halo around tons of lime and lots of flinty mineral aromas. With time, a waft of white flower scents emerged. Nice. The palate showed some of the round mellowness of age on its lemon curd and lime notes, maybe a bit of apple, but was still ever so clean, clear and zippy. It was really nicely integrated by this point though, with the impressively lengthy finish sliding away with a nice creaminess, with a bits of honey and spice licked by more of that fresh acidity. Very nice stuff, at a good place and lovely with Sashimi too. Classy stuff.

  November 9, 2011 - Freshly squeezed lime with like rinds. Fresh with slight petro nose. V good representation. Quite typical.

  October 16, 2011 - At Kingyo over some Japanese food. Last bottle, and this just happened to be a bit off. Real pity. Certainly not undrinkable though - it was still pretty decent. The nose showe a bit more kerosene tones than the previous two bottles, and then aromas pf ripe apples, yellow fruit accents, a touch of flowers and some stony mineral. Very decent, and no sign of poor storage or any other fault. The palate was not quite there though. Dry as always, but it was also a bit tart and watery at points, very different from the poised, balanced package of the previous bottles. Still though, there was a nice ring of purity on the fruit and a good bit of minerality laced through the wine - just that it was merely drinkable rather than very good. It is telling that we did not finish the bottle.

  August 2, 2011 - "Simple" Midweek Dinner (Asia Grand) (Asia Grand, Odeon Towers): This remains a really solid dry Riesling. Even better than the last bottle I had I think. Just a hint of kerosene led on into a nose that showed pretty white flowers, a bit of cream, citrus lime and lemon scents and a touch of appley fruit. Attractive, and the palate was really nice too. Focused and well-delineated, with lovely limey acidity zipping through apple and white fruit notes, this was beautifully balanced - clean as a whistle all the way in to a gently mouthwatering finish that showed a minerally tail. The only sense of age on this was a touch of creaminess on the palate, otherwise, this was a lovely fresh drop that could well have been bottled a year or two back. Solid value.

  January 15, 2011 - Solid - really classy stuff, and very much enjoyed. A bit of petroleum on the nose, but not as quite as aggressively so as a Clare Valley of similar age might be. In fact, with time, the petrol notes quite receded to show some lovely minerality, yellow fruit scents, fragrant Chinese pears and a little ripe guava note. Quite inviting, but it was the palate that really caught my attention. Some richness here, with a nice soft plushness that made me wonder if the wine was allowed to go through any malolactic. Again, there was Chinese pear and some white fruited guava notes, but these were underlined by a stream of gentle minerality that carried the wine into a nice, complete finish that showed some succulent acidity and citrus notes just shading into a touch of lime zest. Fresh, but again, this was rather less aggressively acidic as one would expect from say a Clare Valley or a Western Aussie Riesling. At a very nice place now, and I am glad I have one more bottle in the cellar.
