February 27, 2017 - Color: light/medium ruby core -> light garnet rim. Lovely, poised nose of cedar, cassis, leather, pencil-lead and a touch of coffee. Refined, balanced palate; fully mature and showing tertiary characteristics. Leather, cassis, cigar box, sour cherry and sandalwood. Medium bodied with good acidity and a medium long finish. Feminine and delicious and still drinking well, especially for a 2nd wine, though it should probably be consumed within a few years.

October 19, 2014 - From a 750ml. Better on the 2nd day than on the first. This was a lovely, if a bit simple, bordeaux that suited the occassion. whilst still dark and dense, the fruit was beginning to recede and secondary flavours/scents were to the fore. The tannins were still present, but nicely integrated into the wine. Would have scored this slightly higher, but for the short finish. looking forward to the grand vin of the chateau. should drink up remaining bottles within the next 5 years.

August 1, 2013 - Drank together with Réserve de la Comtesse 90'. Popped and poured. deep brick red colour, i could barely tell it was 24 years old claret. Classic old nose, strong dried red fruits on palate like currants, raspberry and plum, the tannin was soften and very silky, well integrated with the acidity. what a balanced wine, Bravo!! in my opinion, 1989 is one of the best vintage in bordeaux to consume at this moment, so sad that this was my last bottle.

September 28, 2012 - A "discovery" at a friends' home. Poorly stored since '94 but still very tasty. color was quite red and deep, meniscus was starting to brick. Aroma was clearly Bordeaux, as was the taste. Wish we had caught this properly stored and/or 10 years ago. Still very enjoyable.

July 14, 2012 - Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Mature black fruit, clearly identifiable as left bank Bordeaux. Good length and balance with nice spice emerging in middle and finish.
