April 23, 2024 - At a Rhone wine theme dinner with friends, served blind, most guessed a Northern Rhone, I thought it was a Chave, solid Rhone, rich, full bodied but elegant

March 21, 2024 - Well, wow. Opened to a smoky, cherry, olive tapenade filled nose that kept evolving and transforming over the evening. After a couple of hours it was a field of violets, then more cherry. The palate was big, rich and had great intensity, but was also delicate and refined. So classic Allemand. Solid adult here, past the first fully fruited flush of youth but only beginning its journey to tertiary flavors. Long refreshing finish. Stepped up and was even better as food came out, notably charred edge-med rare steaks and pork leg with fig sauce. The sweetness and char of the meat danced with the complementary flavors of the Chaillots. Wonderful Syrah. I have to find some Reynard from this vintage.

February 2, 2024 - This wine is still killer. So much going on, with concentrated dark fruits and impressive intensity and depth. Reminds me why I love N Rhone so much. I tasted with a ton of other wines, so it got lost in the shuffle, but I do recall being quite impressed.

December 4, 2023 - drunk alongside the 2005 Reynard - delicious but marginally the poorer of the two - certainly the more mature and perhaps in need of drinking

October 27, 2023 - Northern Rhone Dinner (2012/2005/1998 focus) (Chez Lagragne): Presently showing ripe and candied with a mix of berry fruit. There is freshness and structure to carry the fruit. Some interesting white pepper notes in the otherwise monolithic palate. Needs 10+ years in this large-scaled vintage.
