November 18, 2023 - One of the top wines tonight and a total stunner. Incredible concentration and power while still showing an ethereal elegance. Lovely tar-funk complexity.

November 18, 2023 - Nebbiolos, white truffles, Volume VIII (Chicago, IL): Absolutely stunning, magnificent nebbiolo that was among my wines of the night. It epitomizes the 2001 vintage with its crystalline red fruit and balanced structure of acidity and tannin. A very complex and layered palate with lots of breadth without becoming heavy. The tannins are still grippy and youthful, but all the good things you want in nebbiolo are here and in harmony. Wonderful now, but no harm in waiting either.

October 14, 2022 - 2001 Barolo and Barbaresco (Chez Wolff): [Double-decanted for 2.5 hours around 6am.] Vibrant nose of dark black fruit with a hint of Kirsch. Grippy tannins. Loads of rich black fruit. A sleeping giant. 97-100

July 5, 2022 - Cappellano dinner at Jade.
Appearance sediments, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dried florals, earth, dried red cherries. Developed.
On the palate, dry, soft high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), good structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of lovely sweet earth, dried florals, dried red cherries, spice box, sweet tea leaves. Very long finish.
Excellent quality. Good concentration and complexity. Drinking in the zone. Wow.
