December 8, 2022 - Tannic, earthy, complex flavors, interesting grape, medium to full body, great structure, drank with ribs, corn bread, plantains, and guacamole, last bottle on to next vintage, 14.5% abv, we really like offbeat grapes.

December 3, 2022 - Still drinking quite youthful. Deep ruby/purple in the glass, bold expressive nose of dark fruits, palate is dry flavors pronounced, black plum, blackberries, black currant, cherry, blueberry, cedar, pencil shavings, earth, note of leather, spice, tannins start aggressive and soften with air, acidity is high, medium + body, long finish.

August 5, 2021 - Decanted 90 minutes. Deep opaque purple-ruby. Mineral heavy and powerful nose. Iodine, pencil shavings, graphite, blueberries, blackberries, lilac, honeysuckle, and a hit of vanilla. Full bodied, spicy, and tannic. Tons of dark fruit – blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, ripe plums hit at first. Followed by a burst of acidity and then all of the oak comes forward in the form of spice. Grippy and almost chewy heavy tannins. Very floral and herbal long finish with a decent amount of alcohol warmth.
This is a wine that knows what it wants to be - it wants to be dark and bold. I somehow get the feeling this wine needs to be lost in the cellar for at least another 5 years before breaking out again.
92pts now, but I suspect this will just get better with age.2 people found this helpful Comment -

June 2, 2021 - Not decanted. Medium purple color in the glass with a ruby rim. Youthful aromas of stewed plum, blackberry, mulberry and graphite. The palate brings date, plum, black pepper, rooibos, and rustic bramble. Acidity is medium-high, and tannins are medium-high but surprisingly well integrated. Finishes at medium-short length. Easy drinking and enjoyable now, with room for potential improvement over the next few years.
