February 12, 2022 - A wonderful new world interpretation of a Bordeaux blend. Not sure of the exact varietals or percentages, but seems Merlot heavy with cab providing a solid structure.
In an amazing place now. Opened and drank over several hours. Started off closed and flat but started to open up after an hour and was still improving four hours later at last sip. Still has a few years of life left.
Seductive nose of lush fruit, anise/licorice, and hints of tobacco, eucalyptus, cherry, and leather… even a touch of maple.
At around the 2 hour mark the wine turned into a party on the palate with luscious mouth filling fruit that is kept in check by a solid structure of fully resolved tannins and bright acidity. This manages to walk the fine line of being able to appeal to both sides of the fruit vs tannins aisle.
Amazing as a stand-alone wine, it also holds up well with a wide range of foods, including tonight’s pairing with a bolognese pasta dish. -

November 29, 2021 - Full bodied, wonderfully balanced nose and taste front to back. Beautiful, deep color. Medium tannins, and acid.
