March 1, 2015 - Dark ruby with lilac nose. Dry, tart medium fruit with soft tannins. Drinking lovely now with ten years of age. Beautifully balanced with a silky mouthfeel. This could go a few more years, but the fruit is fading with some bitter tannins starting to intrude on the finish. Day 2 and it's bright berry again, must have been my palate fading last night. Tonight getting a little pine needle/balsam on the nose which translates into a savory though non fruity wine with resinous tannins starting to intrude. Best on day two. Drink up, no reason to save longer, a good pizza wine tonight, down to 88 pts and the crock pot.

August 1, 2013 - 2013 Post IPNC Tasting of 2004 OR Pinot (Matello Winery): Some toasted oak on the nose but then warm, pretty fruit. a forward wine, but not distractingly. on the reveal, i wasn't surprised. I've had good luck with this producer as a friend found a case of 01 pierre leon that's drinking great (for what it is).

July 29, 2013 - Post IPNC blind 2004 Oregon Pinot Noir tasting (Matello): Smells great, pomegranate meets grapefruit and red tea. A somewhat forward wine from start to finish with dried cherries, black licorice and red tea flavor. Powerfully tannic on the finish, puckering and drying the mouth. This will probably be quite good with more age.

March 10, 2009 - Not the best wine I've had from WillaKenzie, but well made just the same.

November 23, 2008 - Dark ruby color, Pinot written all over the nose. Mouth filling and fantastic; showing earthy Pinot on lingering finish.
