December 31, 2023 - Pale ruby in the glass. Nose - full fruit of raspberry, strawberry, some spice, wet leaves, cedar. Taste - High acidity, tannins fine and well integrated, decanted for around 90 minutes, getting very good now (but still plenty of time to improve) with the raspberry, strawberry and cranberry flavours smoother than some of the tartness noted just a year ago. Lovely with coq au vin.

September 18, 2023 - 13% alcohol. Half bottle. Synthetic plastic cork trying to look like natural cork. Medium colour with some translucence.
The nose is nothing short of enchanting with exuberant red fruit, cherry and raspberry mostly, and a great sense of purity; some tertiary aromas of decayed leaves after time in the glass. Nearly equally enticing in the mouth with great juiciness and a very direct aspect; there may be some oak, but if so it does not draw attention to itself.
I now prefer this style of Burgundy over the more elaborate and more extracted wines that one often encounters in the Côte de Nuits. The only thing missing here is a silky mouthfeel, but even that might develop with time.
A great example of Côte Chalonnaise Pinot and a repeat purchase in principle (ie subject to price limits).

December 18, 2022 - Pale ruby in the glass. Nose - raspberry, wild cherry, spice, mushroom.
Taste - High acidity and fine tannins, well integrated with flavours of raspberry, strawberry, maybe rhubarb?, tea, some oak and modest spice. Wood cabinets. Satisfying now, yet hoping it will improve.

November 8, 2022 - 13% alcohol. From a half bottle. Synthetic cork with a pathetic attempt to mimic a natural cork. Pretty deep colour with no thinning at the rim.
The nose is just glorious, with a basket of red fruit including cherries, raspberries and loganberries; classy and harmonious with a suggestion of leather to add complexity. Similarly pleasing in the mouth provided that you don't object to marked acidity; superbly lively with excellent grip and very good length.
The contrast with Rossignol-Trapet's Gevrey-C vv 2010 that I had two days ago is striking: the Givry displays all the Burgundy magic that was sadly missing from the Gevrey (what a difference a few vowels can make).
In the top three Burgundies that I had this year.
A repeat purchase unless prices become obscene.
