March 2, 2024 - Enjoyed at the Beach with Matt. Fairly smooth wine - I'm not much of a merlot drinker.

December 13, 2023 - 2020 Berserker Day purchase, just before the world went to hell in a hand basket, and purchased on the same day I was told I needed colon cancer surgery. So to say I have an uneasy relationship with this wine is a bit of an understatement.
Anyway, it’s still really young, with notable oak married to deep, dark red fruit. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t have a lot of tannin. The acid is good, so the structural balance is on point, but I expected more grip. Maybe only a few more years until this is in a more mature place. -

March 11, 2023 - Opened and drank over 5 hours.
In a slightly awkward place where the primary fruit has faded and the tannins are well resolved but the mature tertiary flavors have not quite settled in.
Lots of plum with spices (cinnamon) and hints of dark chocolate culminate in a long but but somewhat simple finish.
Nice, but recommend holding out a bit longer for it to shine in the next phase. -

March 17, 2021 - I’m trying my second bottle. Opened for 2 hours. Color is deep garnet red. ON the nose: Plums, cassis, some mineral notes. On the palate: Rich Plum, cassis, some lavender, some baking spices and just a touch of vanilla. This is much better than I remember.

March 13, 2021 - Opened, poured into a decanter, and swirled a bit. Left half the bottle for the next day.
Dark vibrant purple color.
Nose offers plums, blackberries and a violet floral note. Also present is a cedar and oak note.
Enjoyable bouquet.
Flavors leans towards that plum side of the fruit equation with dark berries and floral high notes. There is some oak present to add tannins and a slight bitter edge.
Enjoyable now but still has a tightness to it that suggests another 3 to 5 years in bottle will be beneficial.
