  August 20, 2022 - The CFO's Birthday: Bright, zesty acid. Broad and expansive on the palate. Surprisingly approachable on PnP. A real privilege today, but would be even better with a few more years.

  July 16, 2022 - Finally found the right occasion to open this bottle, which was a dinner with Englishman’s Claret and our respective spouses. This bottle tows the line between oxidative and fresh. The older vintages provide toast, nuts, caramel and honey while the younger vintages add acidity, lemon and verve. A real pleasure to drink a Champagne with such history with other Champagne lovers.

  July 16, 2022 - Jon was exceedingly generous to bring this unicorn from one of my favorite producers. From the first sip, you're struck by the combination of freshness and maturity (which, of course, is exactly the point of heritage so mission accomplished, Pierre Peters). Full of brioche, Meyer lemon, almond paste, a touch of paperwhite - the nose and, even more so, palate are big and assertive but not heavy, but by zippy acid. Following this over several hours, added complexity emerges as the fruit presence fades slightly - but the wine remains equally fresh and dynamic. A very interesting experience with this unique wine.

  January 20, 2022 - The complexity of the wine is so apparent on the first sip. It's bold and deep that shows some faint notes of warm brioche and nut but packed with minerality and great freshness. There's so much detail ongoing that it's hard to really focus on any one thing as your palate is just ping ponging back and forth with an array of flavor. Don't know how it was on release a couple years ago, but right now I feel as though it's starting to hit its stride.
