  May 29, 2008 - This was better than expected. Light red in color. Initial off-putting funky nose blew away quickly and yielded to a peppery, strawberry nose with a sage presence. Lightbodied.Well balanced with unobtrusive structure. More about the fruit than anything - strong strawberry and cassis notes with barely noticed solid structure on the palate yielding a soft but pleasurable quaff in the Tucson summer. Improved with air time. Gift.

  December 22, 2007 - A Nice December Day in Temecula (Temecula, CA): This wine has a deep purple/red color. On the nose I get nothing. I try to swirl and swirl and get something but I can't. I pass the wine to my fiancee to see what she smells (as her "snout" is better than mine) and she can't smell anything either. On the palate I get a very smooth, nice, refreshing wine with hints of currant and black truffle character with a very tight dry finish. There is something a little 'off' about this wine, because of the lack of a nose and odd finish. It doesn't add up to a good Nebbiolo to me or the $40 price tag. (75-80)
