January 21, 2024 - While structurally sound in the bottle the cork disintegrated on removal.

Color is what you'd expect for a 20-year-old wine. Washed out crimson. Maybe a hint of browning around the edges.

Never tasted this wine in its youth so I have nothing to compare it to but the mid palate was a little light on fruit. The structure is still there. Red currant fruit wrapped in a little old road charm.

I suspect this won't improve unless you're really going for the aged wine experience.

May 6, 2023 - Second of two bottles. Unlike several other recent CT reviewer notes, I had no issues with the cork and sedimentation was minimal for a 20 yo cabernet. Continues to be a very good wine, the ripe fruit and vanilla flavors that are associated with younger Silver Oak wines have dissipated. The wine opens on the palate with mocha and cedar notes which add some blackberry highlights toward the middle of the finish.

December 24, 2022 - Opened it and while the cork crumbled into chaos, the wine was very good. Still full bodied - acidity settled down quite a bit for a well wounded pour. Don’t hold too much longer.

August 20, 2022 - Depends on what you’re looking for. At 19yrs it’s so smooth that I find it’s a bit past it’s prime. Still delicious though. Tannins are very smooth but full bodied. Everything’s so balanced low acid if any. Tons of sediment in the bottle. Dark fruits but at this point it’s Al hard to pick out one in particular. Very good stuff. I’d be curious to try a 2008.
