October 25, 2023 - yellowish straw with some viscosity in the glass. the nose is rich with gooseberry, lemon curd, and orchard fruit augmented by some floral and wet stone whiffs. smooth-textured in the mouth parallel veins of bright acidity and minerality run from entry to finish, the former diminishing and the latter increasing. dry apple and pear fruit flavours with herbal and spice accents parade thru to the good length that oscillates from salty to sweet.

13.5% AbV; 100% Aligoté… the "other" Burgundian white grape; surprisingly complex when cropped low and vinified with care; aged six months in French oak (likely neutral). this would make for a very fancy Kir cocktail.

from what i understand, the late Josh Jensen grafted this varietal to two rows of the Jensen vineyard in Mt. Harlan and first released this wine commercially in 2005. very small production.
