December 16, 2023 - Drank from 375…decanted and noticed right away that the color has faded significantly. Drank this wine 14 years ago and the wine is now well past peak. Granted it’s a 375, but the fruit that was so evident previously is all but gone. The wine is quite dry and while the tannins are smooth, it has a drying finish.

December 2, 2023 - ESTG Year-End Tasting (Newcastle, WA): Intense cherry element. Earthy, mineral. Really pretty, really young and very promising.

November 17, 2023 - Winetasting Burgundy vintages 2002 and 2005 (13 bottles): This half blind tasting focused on "middle class" Burgundy mainly from 2002 and 2005. Overall conclusion: All vintages are still performing well. Vintage 2002 is charming, easy to drink, still good concentration, rounded tannins. 2005 is dark, has more alcohol, higher tannins, more acidity, very good balance.

This wine: Pale garnet color. High intensity on the nose but even higher intensity and concentration on the palate. After 18 years, thus this must be a grand cru and so it was. Lots of cherry. Medium+ acidity, medium tannin and finish. A little corked but still drinkable.

January 29, 2023 - Half-bottle Sunday. This was purchased at the Roy Welland auction along with the GE. It has been a while since I opened one of these and it has gained weighted and volume, drinking more like the GE. The nose has tomato vine and white pepper, palate showing rhubarb, cherry, as well as some cool fruit. Tannins are still big but balanced nicely with the acidity. Drank well on its own, but would go well with fowl or lean red meat.

September 5, 2020 - Opens up in the glass. Red and black berries, sous bois. A delicious, medium weighted wine, with cool fruits balanced against the silky tannins. Tension and elegance. Length and vibrance.
