June 24, 2023 - Decanted for around an hour, drank from a Spieglau Definition Burgundy glass.
Nose: Brooding cherries, strawberries and pomegranate at first. Soon after notes of tea, forest floor, oak and pepper arise. Barnyard funk also comes to mind. Towards the end hints of orange zest and cooked mushrooms come through.
Taste: Tart cherry and strawberry at first, notes of herbs and forest floor come through later. Very fresh acidity and silky tannins. Cherry, savoury mushrooms and pepper on a long finish.
What a wonderful wine. Wines like these are the reason as to why I got into wine as a hobby. This wine has got such a wonderfully perfumed aroma, I just can't my nose out of the glass. Definitely one to remember, gotta write that producer down.1 person found this helpful Comment -

June 16, 2023 - Haven't tried many off-the-beaten path wines recently so glad to have opened this. Pretty, elegant, and almost Burgundian (not a very useful descriptor I know, but an easy comparison) nose. Nice freshness and wild strawberry aromas. On the palate however it was dominated by blue fruit with a sauvage edge that reminded me of northern Rhône. But with air, the stemmy nature and tart cherry fruit made it clear this was new Spain. Not the most natural marriage of flavours but worked for me.

January 14, 2022 - Tiefe, komplexe Nase mit Kirsche, Johannisbeere, Erde, Eisen, Kräuter, Pilze, Holz und leichten Reduktionsnoten. Wild und fein zu gleichen Teilen. Am Gaumen rotfruchtig, Kirsche, Schlehe, Würze, Waldboden, seidig, stoffig, saftig und kühl. Viel Kraft, aber nicht protzig, alles vollkommen zart und elegant, unterstützt von einem filigranen Säurekorsett. Den langen, feinpfeffrigen Abgang begleiten die seidigen Tannine bis zum leider unvermeidlichen Ende. Kühle Eleganz mit großem Potential. To be continued …
