April 9, 2022 - A visit to Ngaio (Abbot Street, Ngaio, Wellington, New Zealand): Stunningly good Burgundy that is at its peak of maturity. Gorgeous fruit quality, a focused palate, and firm structure bring a beautiful clarity to the wine. Deep dark black cherry, verging on kirsch, and an iron ore note brings this into the full bodied class (by Burgundian standards). Complex and complete.

November 26, 2021 - This was still young and showed austerity. Pretty nose of dark fruit, herbs, and spice. Palate was dark berry, cranberry, tight, slightly out of balance. Not nearly as fine as '05 Courcel G Eps not too long ago.
