November 26, 2011 - The primary redeeming features of this wine is that it had alcohol and was cheap. Took it to a football talegate party and it was the only thing that was not finished. Might have been drinkable with a meal, but I only had one glass on it's own. The box wine was even finished to the exclusion this stuff. This is a great example of the power of marketing.

March 13, 2008 - This inexpensive, Australian merlot is a medium garnet in color, with a nose of crushed red berries, cherries, and a hint of both spice and vanilla. On the palate this comes across very fruit-forward, but without jamminess or 'fruit-bomb'-like character. It is well balanced with the aforementioned crushed red berries, a touch of pepper, some vanilla oakiness, and soft but present tannins. On the whole, very impressive for the very low entry fee! I had this with steak, and the pairing was just so-so. This is because this merlot is not very complex, and does not really evolve in the glass. This wine is, I believe, better by itself or with cheese and crackers. That said, it is a stout value and very enjoyable to drink.
